RE: Am I crazy...tires for towing

They look fine for towing and off road if you don't mind the price. If you are looking for larger tires they will work but if you want better tires there are several better brands that will give you more mileage.
You don't think the weight will be a problem?
Really I was going on looks...they are SEXY...any suggestion for something that looks good but will give me better mileage.
:h SEXY :h If anything was considered to be sexy on my tuck, I would have to take it mudding and not wash it ....It is a MANS truck not a chick truck...No sexy******here.... Joe
Sorry...they look bad a$$ :)

RE: Am I crazy...tires for towing

Yes, you are . . . . . .in the wrong forum. TV would be appropriate.
~
I thought about TV section but read "If you're wondering about SUVs, pickups and autos, this forum is for you" which did not sound like tires would be appropriate. Guess I may have been wrong.

Am I crazy...tires for towing

First: If this is posted in the wrong section...sorry...feel free to move.
I am thinking about getting a set of Mickey Thompson Baja Atz for my TV. How will they work towing? Am I crazy for even thinking about doing this? Thanks!

RE: Is this a good price (winterizing my 5er)

OK, OK, I give in...I will give it a try :)
After doing a little reading it sounds pretty easy. Is there anything specific that I should watch for my particular unit? A washer/dryer unit was an option that I did not opt for, but I noticed that there is a low drain point by that area...stuff like that.
Thanks for the kick in the a$$ to do it my self.

RE: Is this a good price (winterizing my 5er)

Maybe a better question would be, "how does $99 compare to what other people are paying".
That being said, I am sure it is really not all that difficult, but if I forget something, and it freezes I bet it is going to cost me a lot more than $99 to fix from the dealership. I guess I am a little scared to break something.

The price is $99 which includes the antifreeze. Is this a good price? Are there any questions that I should ask? Thanks

RE: Megacab hitch question

Not sure if I understand the question...but here goes :)
With the longer wheel base your turns are going to be wider. I use to have a quad cab, and in comparison to my mega cab it acted like a sports car. That being said, I would never give my MC up...I love it!
I have a superglide and I could not be happier. Out of the big three, Dodge's rear axle is close to the cab than the others which makes it more likely that you could pop our your rear window...not worth the risk in my opinion. Hope that helps,

This just happened to us as well. FisHin2Dmax - thanks for the info...I don't think I will re-attach it now.

RE: slideout ?

We leave them in the position they are in until we need to move them. Then we leave them in that position until we need to move them back.
We have found this keeps us from moving the slides in and out all of the time.

RE: Packing your fifth Wheel

Slightly confused about the question, but yes, we pack our 5th wheel with everything that we will be using on our camping trip before we go. Things do bounce around a little, but nothing to bad.

RE: Designer 35RLTS and Jayco Talk...Thanks Frank!!

For those of you that have the generator built-in to your Designer:
You are plugged in to only 30A electrical but you need more power to run things at certain times...have you ever just flipped on the generator (without unplugging from electric) and run what you needed then turned the generator off? I'm assuming the automatic transfer switch inside will change to the geenerator power when it is turned on (since this would be producing more power thatn the 30A) and then switch back to electrical after turning off the generator...anyone every have to do this yet?
You definitely can do that. I actually called Jayco and asked them the same question since my dealer said that it would damage the transfer switch. When they called me back (pretty quickly I might add) they said that turning the generator on while plugged into shore power would not be a problem at all. Besides the comment about the AC (which you need to turn off for a couple of minutes before turning on because your AC can not turn on under high pressure) is you need to wait several seconds after your get your generator running before you can assume the switch has transferred over. I am not sure how long but I would guess at least 30 seconds or so.

RE: pro pressure tire monitor

We considered the PressurePro, but went with the Doran 360RV instead. It shows all the tire locations, you have the option to scroll through all the tires for exact pressure, alarms for over pressure (over heated tires), alarms for pressure loss (flat and/or 12.5% I think), and an alarm for missing sensor. It also has a "green for good" light that tells you instantly if your tires are within specs. You program in which tire has which sensor and the cold air pressure during the initial programming. We got ours for the same price as the PressurePro.

RE: Fifth Wheel Hitch Cover

I also use a tonneau cover (tri-folding type):
http://www.ualberta.ca/~jamesm/vgate-tonneau.jpg
When you are turning into, say a gas station, something with a bump, how close does the 5th wheel get to hitting the tonneau cover? I have the same type of set-up but I removed the tonneau cover because it sticks up a couple on inches and I thought it would hit. Thanks.

RE: Run bathroom fan 24/7?

You know, you should just go the next step and upgrade your fan to something with a thermostat in it.
NO...I REFUSE TO SPEND MORE MORE :) Just kidding. I think I am all but tapped out for spending this year, but a good idea for the future.

RE: Run bathroom fan 24/7?

Shore power I assume & not in storage mode.
Yes shore power...although I ran it on battery power for days before I got around to hooking shore power up and the batter meeter was exactly where it was when I turned the fan on.

RE: Run bathroom fan 24/7?

I assume that you have a rainproof cover over it, maxxaire type?
but why not just crack open the vent cover and not run the fan. seems unnecessary to me. especially in Buffalo.
bumpy
Yes, I have a rain cover. The reason I started running the fan is because I would go in during the middle of the day and it would be over 90 in there, and only 75 or so outside. My thinking was that the heat was not the best thing for the unit.
